Kuala Lumpur : Shopping Spree Bangsar

The affluent suburb of Bangsar has emerged in recent years as a popular shopping centre for its large expatriate community and the local residents. Bangsar is centrally located between the city and the municipality of Petaling Jaya, a mere 15-minute drive from the city centre. There are two modern shopping complexes, boutiques and attractively decorated shops selling a wide range of products such as antiques, furniture, textiles, cosmetics, household items, electrical goods and sports wear.

Apart from shopping complexes, Bangsar’s appeal also lies in the wide choice of dining outlets and entertainment spots available, making it a magnet for social gatherings especially in the evenings.

MID VALLEY MEGAMALL

Located strategically between KL and Petaling Jaya along the Federal Highway, the Mid Valley Megamall is one of the city’s premier shopping malls. Its 430 retail outlets and anchor tenants such as Metrojaya, Jusco and Carrefour are well-stocked with a wide range of merchandise. Of interest here are the one-stop IT centre, the Pet Wonderland, Asia’s largest cineplex and gym and the mega MPH bookstore. A novelty here is the feng shui or Chinese geomancy outlet. Look out for the exciting promotions and activities that take place regularly at the mall’s concourse area.

OTHERS

Bangsar Village and Bangsar Shopping Centre are other shopping malls in the area, offering a wide range of imported foodstuff and other merchandise. Located on the outer limits of the city are other major shopping centres such as One Utama, Ikano Power Centre, The Curve, Pearl Point, Alpha Angle and the Mines Shopping Fair.
