Seven Wells Waterfall or Telaga Tujuh attract many tourists.  The steep path to the falls weaves its way through ancient rainforests while Mount Machincang looms overhead.  Langkawi Cable Car ascends 700m to the summit and offers spectacular island views.

Langkawi's water are perfect for sailing as distances between the islands are short, waters are warm, winds are favourable and there are many quiet sandy bays for mooring, swimming and picnicking.  The islands also offer sailing in sheltered inlets as well as an open seas.  Because the favourable winds sailing is best from November to April.

Recent developments, marina expansions and the establishment of a boat repair, servicing and building industry have further advanced the island as a sailing destination. 

 

The development of a residential estate, commercial outlets and marina at Telaga Harbour Park Langkawi, Pantai Kok will further enhance tourism and sailing for the island group.

 

Langkawi is the venue for the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) held every two years.  Usually held in early December it attracts worldwide buyers and sellers.

 

Langkawi is also the starting point in late January for the annual Le Tour de' Langkawi, one of the region's more challenging cycling events.

 

Langkawi's annual Ironman Triathlon held in February is growing in popularity with local and international athletes.

 

Ironman is the world's most prestigious triathlon, a multi disciplined grueling race covering a 3.8km swim, 180.2km cycle and 42.2km run.
