Sail Borneo - East Malaysia

The island of Borneo has enthralled intrepid travellers for centuries.  Today, visitors can discover the two Malaysia states of Sarawak and Sabah to appreciate Borneo's many exotic qualities.  The unique flora and fauna constitute one of the world's great homes for biodiversity and the various ethnic groups continue to fascinate.

The East Malaysian states of Sarawak and Sabah, on the island of Borneo, are two of the world's leading nature adventure destinations.

Settlements are mostly confined to the coastal regions and the interiors are difficult to access but offer intrepid travellers many exciting tourist opportunities.

National parks, mountainous peak, unique flora and fauna, long meandering rivers, diving, deserted islands (the first Survivors was filmed on Pulau Tiga) and isolated ethnic groups are what make East Malaysia so alluring.

THE LAND BELOW THE WIND

Sabah, known as the 'Land Below the Wind', indicates just how important the monsoon winds are in and around Sabah.  For centuries seafarers sought refuge here from the monsoon winds.  The main ports of call for yachters are Sandakan, Lahad Datu, Tawau, Kudat and Kota Kinabalu.
